MEMORIAL SERVICE

“I HAVE FOUGHT THE GOOD FIGHT, FINISHED THE RACE, KEPT THE FAITH” 2 TIMOTHY 4:7

What is a memorial service? : A memorial service is a ceremony honouring and remembering a deceased person after a burial or cremation.

When is a memorial service held? : A memorial service can be held weeks or months after a death. It depends on the family. Protestants and believers have a Life Celebration Service after one year without doing this, or both conduct services.

Where the Memorial Service is Held: A memorial service can be held in a church, funeral home, community hall, or anywhere significant to the family.

What happens at the Memorial Service? : A memorial service often includes worship, scripture reading, testimony, God’s message, prayer and blessing, and communion.

How it’s a personalised memorial service: A memorial service can be personalized as a celebration of life. For example, if the deceased loved to cook, you can have a potluck with their favourite foods. These things Protestants/Believers probably don’t do. They remember the loved one and thank God for his life.
