Nimbrod, a mighty hunter before the Lord

Tower Of Baylon

He was a mighty hunter before the Lord; that is why it is said, ‘like Nimbrod, a mighty hunter before the Lord. Genesis 10:9.

According to the bible, ‘Nimrod was the first mighty man on earth’. He was very ambitious. The Bible says, “he was a mighty hunter before God.” He was an Assyrian, Micah 5:6, a mighty warrior on earth, 1 Chronicles 1:10.
The beginning of Nimrod’s kingdom was Babel, Erech, and Akkad in the land of Shinar. He is also said to have built the cities of Nineveh, Calah modern Nimrūd, Rehoboth-Ir, and Resen.

He was not afraid of God. He wanted to expand his empire, like his own on earth. The Tower of Babylon was an idea born out of his ambition. For this, he prepared all plans and materials and undertook the task of building the tallest tower on the earth. But God did not allow that to happen. In an instant, language confusion was created between them, ending their dialogue and scattering them on the earth.

Here, we must realize that nothing works for man in the face of God’s power, no matter how strong he may be. Man can plan, but it is not in his hands to carry it out.

Whatever man-made, God can destroy in an instant. Man must not boast before God nor compete with him, so it is better to live life according to his will.

In today’s thinking, God has proved the salvation for mankind, the second coming of Jesus Christ, and the judgment of this world. Suppose we do not follow him by faith. So remember that our life, Nimrod’s, is proud and competitive with God. We must live according to God’s will, individually and socially.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for choosing me from the word of darkness. Please help me follow you. I ask this prayer in Jesus’ name. Amen.
