Then he brought him out and said, Look at the sky; If you count these stars, count them, then he told him your offspring will be like this, Genesis: 15: 5.

promise of Abraham

Once a person starts thinking negatively, he does not see anything positive. That is what happened to Abram. He had many things to think positively about. God had given him a great victory that would guarantee him further victories. God was very faithful to him. However, he forgot all about it and was surrounded by despair so much that he did not even know what God was promising him. God says to him, “I am your greatest reward.” It is very difficult for a man to understand what it means to be the reward of God. Then how will Abram, who is depressed, knows the value of that reward and the height, depth, and breadth of it? So he asked God directly, “What will you give me?” All that is mine will belong to my servant Eliezer, and I will die childless. In the case of man, it is true that he is not satisfied with what he has, but he is always unhappy with what he does not have. God says I am your reward. What could be greater than this? None, though, of Abram’s human nature

God understands this and brings out the little boy as He should explain to him and shows him the stars in the sky. How gracious and loving God is! He understands Abraham’s limitations and conforms to his beliefs. Psalm 84:11 says, “The LORD God is the sun and shield. The LORD will give grace and glory. He will not withhold anything good from those who walk in his way. Blessed is the man who trusts in you.”

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, You know me perfectly. I thank You for accepting me with my imperfections. Let me always remember that your divine plan is a greater reward to me than my selfishness. Help me to focus on your service while walking with you. Asks in the name of Jesus, Amen.
