Trust and Hospitality

And he said, Blessed be Jehovah, come in; What are you standing outside Because I have built a house; There is also space for camels. Genesis 24:31.

Introduction:

We find it very difficult to receive strangers as a guest. We cannot believe strangers out of the security of our family. But it also needed the trust and hospitality of society. So how should we manage this struggle?
Right identification of person:
Rebekah; told Laban, who was her brother, everything that had happened at the well to her. Laban understood about Eliezer that he is a worshiper of Jehovah. So he promptly arranged a house for him and a place for the camels, and greeted him with the respect; ” come you who blessed by Lord which shows the faith in Abraham’s relatives. He looked after them with great affection.
Seek the will of God:
Before the meal, Eliezer Explained the purpose of his visit. He was a wise man. He tried to tell them a lot about Abraham, and about his wealth so that they would not refuse to give him a daughter. But Laban and Bethuel respond to him, saying, “We are not telling you anything bad because you are from Jehovah.” From this, we can understand how much trouble they had to receive this servant of Abraham. It is possible for humans to welcome, entertain, or shelter a stranger who comes from two thousand miles away. That’s right, but what if the man is asking for his darling daughter?  Eliezer said a lot about Abraham, although Laban and Bethuel were not interested in him it seems from his words that he had little respect for Abraham, but he had bitterness about him because leaving relatives was a matter of social affairs, what Abraham did because of the commandment of God. So it must have been impossible for them to say yes in such a situation. But they realized that the real mediator is Jehovah, not someone else. And that’s why They couldn’t refuse the proposal of Eliezer. say how much spiritual vision these men had to look at God, say they believed in him, or say they loved him, no matter what, but one thing is for sure, ‘these great men of God teach us a lot. We must learn from them.
If we leave our work in God’s hands, we will succeed. Proverbs 16: 3 states: “Submit your acts to Jehovah, and your plans will accomplish.” Abraham grew old. He could not find a bride for his son, but he believed in God. He also told his servant, Eliezer, to believe in God. The Spirit of God guided and protected this man throughout the journey. He brought Rebekah home with him. She also guided her father and brother in spirit and arranged the marriage of Isaac and Rebekah.
Today, many Christian families around the world marry off their children because the God who connected Isaac and Rebekah is still with us today. It is very good that God should mediate your marriage.
PRAYER:
O Lord Jesus, you are the one who makes the impossible possible; you have control over all things; I thank you for doing everything well for the one who believes in you, helps me to have my life that gives you priority in my life. Listen as I ask in the name of Jesus. Amen.
