Your sorrow will turn into Joy!

Verse: And Sarah said God made me laugh; Everyone who hears will laugh with me. Genesis 21: 6.

Introduction: there is an assumption it is very important for a woman to have a male child. The most important duty of women was giving birth to the male child. It believes that a woman’s birth is to give birth to the children and take care of them. Barren women treated with contempt in society. Barrenness creates big emptiness in the life of a woman. There is nothing in the world that can fulfil this emptiness except for giving birth to a child. The life of a barren woman is full of despair and misery. We can only say that a barren woman could understand the pain of another barren woman. 1 Samuel 1:9-18.

Sarah may have suffered from the same situation. To satisfy this situation, she gave her maidservant to her husband Abraham. for she gets a child from her. But as we know she got hatred and disrespect from her maidservant Hagar. here, we can understand Sarah’s life situation. That how sorrowful it was.

It happened because she did not wait for God’s appointed time. But when the time of God came, it replaced her sorrow with joy. She was ninety years old and her husband Abraham a hundred years old, but the almighty God made their life fruitful by giving them Isaac. God gave Sarah the Joy of motherhood. The stigma of barrenness gone.

Now Sarah knew about the power and authority of God. She had completely understood the plan and purpose of God for her life and how God works unknowingly. she overwhelmed with a thankful heart for God. having full assurance in the faithfulness of God, she said, “God made me laugh, anyone who hears me will laugh with me”. here Sarah, who is our spiritual mother, promises to future generations and all barren women, that believe in God, walk with him in holiness, he will fulfil all his promises in his appointed time and change your sorrow into joy.

Thousands of years later, the psalmist says, “Almighty God settles the barren woman in her home as a joyful mother of children. Praise the Lord.” Psalm 113:9.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, you are omnipotent. You only hope that no one should be sad. So please listen to my prayers and make sisters who believe in you and ask you for maternal happiness. Please make her the mother of a happy child. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
